Holland-born, Hungary-based hard rock guitarist Anand Mahangoe's CD A Man's Mind (reissued for 2005) introduces this Eastern European six-stringer to a world wide audience. Featuring ten blazing instrumental tracks and stellar production from Mahangoe and Miklos Kuronya, fans of hot-wired guitar solos, pounding drums, muscular bass and thematic keyboards will be jumping all over this release. Mahangoe gets the ball rolling on the very first track, "Return From The Red Bananaworld", with intense sweep picking and explosive legato phrasing, and never lets up -- almost. "Side By Side" shows that the talented Mahangoe can also play expressive and appealing when the situation, and tempo, demand it. Green Day--International Superhits Tabs

Green Day takes the title International Superhits literally, offering a no-surprises compilation of all the songs that made a big dent on commercial radio. From the pop-punk heroes' breakthrough album Dookie ("Longview," "Welcome to Paradise") through Insomniac ("Brain Stew"), Nimrod ("Good Riddance [Time of Your Life]"), and Warning ("Minority"), if a record produced a hit, that song is on this album. There are only two new tracks on the Superhits (both recorded a couple of months before the album's release)--the spazzed out rock & roll singalong "Maria" and the puppy-dog love of "Poprocks & Coke." Because International Superhits doesn't pull from Green Day's early EPs and Lookout albums or offer any live variations, though, this album is really only one for the serious-minded collectors who don't want to skip past a single Green Day release.

Torben Enevoldsen--Guitarisma

Guitarisma is the strong debut of Danish guitar hero Torben Enevoldsen. Containing 13 hard rock and fusion tracks, the CD features 11 instrumental numbers and two vocal tracks sung by Kenny Lubcke (Narita), making for a varied and interesting release. This Lion Music re-release also features a bonus track, "Zantac". Enevoldsen's superb technique sets the stage for songs displaying the guitarist's sense of melody and the atmospheric quality and depth of his compositions. Vinnie Moore--Out Of Nowhere

Written and produced by Vinnie Moore (with production assistance from engineer Paul Hammingson), Out Of Nowhere is the guitarist's fourth CD and continues the hard rock sound found on "Meltdown" This time Moore included two acoustic songs as well as riff-a-plenty tunage such as "Time Traveler", "770 Days" and "Losing Faith". Recorded at Kajem Studios just outside Philadelphia (with additional work done at Moore's new home studio), the album, once again all instrumental, travels the outer limits of song writing. From the crushing opening riff of "With The Flow", to the smooth, almost angelic styling of "Echoes", to the all-out jam of "Thunderball" and his twang thang, "VinMan's Brew", the album plays like an old friend.
